Catrice Glamourama En Vogue & Times Square After Midnight

Hey everyone,

This month Catrice came out with their new Limited Edition collection, called 'Glamourama'. This collection has four polishes.

04 Glamourista, 01 Mirror Mirror, 02 En Vogue and 03 Times Square After Midnight.

Well first of all, I didn't buy all of these. In the display Mirror Mirror looked like a pretty plain silver, nothing special. Glamourista also just didn't appeal to me that much. En Vogue and Time Square After Midnight however did, but well, gorgeous blues and purples.. what can you do.

Here is En Vogue:

In some lights it's almost black!

En Vogue is a beautiful deep blue with some with some lighter blue shimmer in it. It's gorgeous, but not that original. The applying was okay, I only needed one coat.

Times Square After Midnight:

Times Square After Midnight is a dark purple base with blue, purple, pink and golden glitter/shimmer in it. Of which I couldn't stop taking pics '^^ Like many camera's mine also has a problem with capturing purple colour accurate. The first picture and the left detail picture show the best what the purple base looks like, it's very dark!

I love this polish so much! It also needed just one coat, applied nice.. and those colours! So pretty!

Overall I'm really happy with these two! Times Square After Midnight was such a pleasant suprise! And it never hurts to have another pretty dark blue with blue shimmer in it.

These cost just €2,49.

I also bought 'Life is a stage' lipgloss of this collection, which I also really love. I think I'm starting to like this brand for more than just the Ultimate Nail Lacquers!

I'd also like to note that I've been messing around with my lay-out. I love the way it looks, but the comment link got all weird and I haven't figured out how to fix it. I also don't really have that much time the upcoming days.. But the comment link now is a tiny number above the post. How nice '^^

Out of this World is a polish from Orly's Cosmic FX collection. It's a deep purple base with violet, gold and green shimmer flecks. Wearing three coats in these pictures.

Glitter Ombre

Hey everybody,

Last night I had to go to birthday. Not a really fun one at that, but I still wanted my nails to match the occasion. I couldn't think of anything festive myself, so I copied this look of a picture I had saved on my laptop.

It's a grey-black ombre, with silver diagonal stripes and some pink glitters on the edges.

The polishes I used were:

- Artdeco 65 (grey)

- Essence Fatal (black)

- Uma Glitter Liner (silver glitter)

- Essence Carrie (pink glitter)

I'm quite happy with how this look turned out :)

Catrice Absolutely Chinchilly, Run Forest Run & Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans

This month Catrice changed the face of their entire collection, they also came out with three new polishes in the Ultimate Nail Lacquer line.

Absolutely Chinchilly, Run Forest Run and Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans.

I love the names of these polishes. And of course the colors as well. Especially Run Forest Run and HQWBJ (I'll keep using that abbreviation) were calling my name. So I got all three of them.

Absolutely Chinchilly:

Absolutely Chinchilly (..Essie?) is a light greige. It has a lot of pigment in it, I'm wearing one coat on the picture. It applied lovely.

Run Forest Run:

Run Forest Run is a deep forest green colour. I totally love it! It doesn't look like any green I already own. I fell in love with this one.. It applied lovely, just one coat ^^

Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans:

HQWBJ is dusty deep blue with subtle light blue glitters in it. A very pretty colour. Also an unique colour in my collection! This one also applied nicely and gave great coverage after one coat.

These cost €2,49 a polish.

Overall I'd say 'YAY' for Catrice! I also can't wait to try other stuff from their completely changed collection. And their new Limited Edition 'Glamourama' should be out as well with four new polishes. They got me curious about lots of things! ^^

Essence Metallics swatches

The new trend edition by Essence, Metallics, is out. There's something special for the nail polishes in this collection. Four of them have metallic parts in them and Essence also sells a small magnet in this collection. When you hold the magnet above a fresh polished nail, the metallic parts start to move and create stripes in the polish. This whole idea got me very excited about this collection, so I decided to buy all the polishes.

01 Iron Goddess, 02 Copper Rulez, 03 Steel Me, 04 Nothing Else Metals, 05 Metal Battle and the magnet.

Iron Goddess:

Iron Goddess is a brown with a silver shimmer in it. I only have on one coat! Overall this isn't a colour I like all that much. But I don't like most brown polishes in general. It gets light stripes when you use the magnet on this polish.

Copper Rulez:

Copper Rulez is a dark brown base with golden and orange shimmer. It looks a lot warmer than on this picture. This is also is an exception when it comes to me not liking brown nail polish. I think this one looks pretty, I don't love it, but it is pretty. This one gets light stripes with the magnet. Also just one coat.

Steel Me:

Steel Me is my favorite in this collection. It's a shimmery dark silver, I love it! It gets dark stripes when you use the magnet on this one. Again, one coat :)

Nothing Else Metals:

Nothing Else Metals is a bit gold and a bit green and very light. It had a silver shimmer, which is what showed mostly on my nails though the bottle looks very light green. It gets even lighter silver stripes when you use the magnet.
This one didn't apply that nicely, it got massive strikes. But it did fully cover after evening the strikes out.

Metal Battle:

Metal Battle is the only polish in this collection that isn't magnetic. It's a black polish with a blue shimmer in it. Something they seem to do in every Trend Edition.. But this also was just one thick coat. So all the polishes in this collection are very well pigmented, big plus ^^

The magnet really doesn't seem strong and big enough. Well, the entire thingy is big enough, but the magnet itself isn't. It's pretty long which annoyed me and I couldn't help touching my nails with it. So, need to find a better magnet..

This is done with the magnet, horizontal stripes over Steel Me.

The effect looks very subtle, but still pretty ^^ Overall I like this collection, except for the magnet. But I'll just try to find a better one. The magnet only costs €1,45 anyway.

The polishes in this collection cost €1,99 a bottle.

MNY swatches 445, 657 and 673

Not too long MNY came to the Netherlands. The brand is descriped as Maybelline's little sister. All their products cost less than €3, the packaging looks really cute and they have some nice colors in their polish collection!
I recently bought four of them. One is just plain white and I haven't swatched that one yet.
The polishes haven't been given names, but numbers.. the only brand that gets away with that to me is Nfu Oh, their numbers are famous anyway. But this just annoys me, they could've given them atleast some simple names.

This is 445

445 is a light gold colour with lots of shimmer. I'm not too fond of yellowgold in general. But this is a pretty colour which I think I'll be wearing again after the swatch. I was wearing two coats.

And look at the cute bottle! The handcuffs, guitar, key, girl.. :D I think it looks awesome!

This is 657

657 is a gorgeous blue, also with a lot of shimmer. I'm a sucker for blues and I looove this one<3 Too bad it gets some strikes in it during applying. I had on two coats.

And last 673

673, in the display it looked like an average black with some subtle glitters in it. But when I took it out I saw flakies! They were hard to capture on a picture, but the detail shows a bit of the grey-ish flakes. These pics don't do justice to this polish. It really is gorgeous!

So way to go MNY! I'm very satisfied with the quality of these polishes and they have lots of other beautiful colors to choose from! And the bottles look so cute on polish shelves ^^

China Glaze 'Secret Peri-wink-le' and a pink ombre

Hey everyone,
I'm sorry about not updating for a while. Sometimes I'm busy, sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes life gets in the way.. and sometimes the weather gets in the way. The clock has been set to wintertime and I've got a stressful period at college. I've been leaving in the dark and getting back home in the dark :( It really sucks. One day I was home while the sun was shining a little, I was wearing China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le of the Operation Colour collection. It happened to be a very difficult colour to catch on camera. It constandly turned out way too blue.

This is the best picture I've got of it. It's too bad my camera still changed the colour a little bit, it's much prettier in real life. It's a purple-blue-ish colour and very shiny. I love this polish! And I can't remember how many coats I was wearing.. :)

I also did a pink ombre with some polka dots this week. Totally copied it of an image a had saved on my laptop. I can't remember all the colors I used for this one, all I know is that the base of my pink and ringfinger nails look like their the same colour. Which they aren't.

The picture is pretty dark and crappy, but like I said, I'm not being blessed with proper natural light anymore..

Halloween nails

Tomorrow it's Halloween! And even though it isn't really celebrated here, I still wanted to do some Halloween nails. Nothing original though, some bloody nails, swirl nails and what's still on them; some Frankenstein nails.

The white was done with Essence White Secret, the 'blood' with
P2 Red Tip Painter. I'm not satisfied with this one at all, that's why it came off right after away.

Swirls over endless coats of different Nfu Oh's, which you can't even see in the picture..

Last my current nails, stitches with one Frankenstein face, with a sad mouth.. The Green is Essence Here I Am.

I could've used a lot more practice for these looks. But I'll only wear them for one day anyway I guess.

What are your plans for Halloween tomorrow? Any nail plans?

Plaid Nails

Hey everyone,

Yesterday I tried the plaid design for the first time. I've seen this look a couple of times on various blogs and just fell in love with it. As a guide on how to do this I watched the Plaid Nails tutorial by Asami. Mine aren't nearly as pretty as hers, but I'm content with the result.

I used Essence 'Fatal' (black)

Catrice 'London's Weather Forecast' (grey)

and a white striper by Essence.

And it matched with one of my coats. Which I wore yesterday, totally intentionally!

Essence Nailart Twins swatches

Hey everyone,

Most of you probably know the Essence Nailart Twins polishes. Four combinations of two polishes, one colour and one glitter topper. The polishes have pretty cool names of famous couples/partners. Here's all of them.

Thelma & Louise

Two coats of Thelma

And with one coat of Louise

Thelma is a dark purple creme. Almost black it some lights. Kinda dull actually, but with Louise over it it looks almost cosmic. She contains little purple glitters with some larger purple-red square glitters. I love the combo of these two!

Romeo & Julia

..and joined by Julia

Romeo is a silver metallic polish, it applies okay, a bit streaky though. Together with Julia it's a very festive mani. Her glitters contain all the colors of the rainbow!

Bonnie & Clyde

And with one coat of Clyde

Bonnie is a lovely blue creme, I actually like her on her own. She applied lovely. Clyde is a bit boring to me, he contains some small blue glitters but the larger ones are just plain silver. They still look hot together though.

Mr. Big & Carrie

Mr Big is a pink berry creme. Applied really well. Carrie is deep red berry-like glitter. I think they look like berries together!

The Nailart Twins can also be bought sperate, one bottle costs €1,79.

I really like this small collection of twins. They are quite a hell to get off, but having such cheerful nails for a few days makes up for that. And if I'm supposed to believe the internet, there's another couple out there! Joe & Victory:

Don't they look lovely? I will definately hop over the border after school to check if Germany has got them! I recently found out there's a DM Store (German drugstore) just a five minute drive from my school! Really excited about that, I just hope I won't be there after every day of college. But today I will be! I can't wait till it's 3pm, just 7-something more hours ^^

NOTD China Glaze Heli-Yum

Something pink again cause it's still October.
Heli-Yum is from the Up & Away (spring 2010) collection of China Glaze. Just the name of this polish is enough to make me happy. The pretty hot pink colour and nice application make me even happier!

Today another lazy sunday is at it's beginning, also the last day of my autumn break :( So I'll be playing a bit with my polishes.

Water Marble Winter Blues

Hey everyone

Yesterday I did a water marble, it suprised me how fast it went this time. This was the third time I did it. I'm pretty happy with the result, though the nails on my right hand have a lot of bubbles on them. I spend an age choosing the colors, I wanted something autumn-ish but just couldn't come up with a combination I liked. So I decided to go for some blues, since I'm getting the winter blues anyway. Atleast my nails cheer me up a bit with this dark and rainy weather.

And my two favorites:

I used: Essence 'Chica' (Show Off), 'My Boyfriends Jeans' and 'Forever Mine' (Demin Wanted) and Maybelline 130 (white) which was also the base coat.

I'm still so excited about this method, I should do it more often! The neon marbles I saw on Youtube inspired me so much that I just ordered the entire China Glaze Poolside collection. They look so gorgeous in water marbles!
But it does take a lot of time, a lot of polish and it always breaks my heart to take it off. But my nails quickly bore me and I like polishing them too much. So maybe these will stick around for just one more day.

Haul from Helsinki!

Hey everybody!

I've been away a few days, me and my boyfriend went on a citytrip to Helsinki (the capital of Finland) for four days ^^ It was veryyy last-minute. I had a great time. And of course I had to buy some nail polish! Helsinki had an awesome variation in nail supply. Many brands such as Orly, Models Own, Konad etc were available in the huge warehouses. It was lovely seeing all those things I always have order in real life. But it's an extremely expensive city (country I guess), Orly and O.P.I. cost €19,95 a bottle, Konad plates were €8, so I didn't buy that much. Here's my haul:

Three polishes of Orly's Cosmic FX collection: Lunar Eclipse, Halleys Comet and Out of this World.

A brand I didn't own before, Wild and Crazy. Lemon and Lollipop. I'm having the hardest time understanding how gold and lollipops go together..

Three lonely ones: O.P.I. Jade is the New Black, GOSH Bright Passion and Models Own Bubblegum.

Some nail stickers, mainly because of the ones on the lighest paper that look like the Ed Hardy design and the roses on the paper above it (not that visible). And the Konad image plate M60!

If there's one thing I LOVE besides nail polish, it's travelling! I'm a girl that easily obsesses over stuff that starts fascinating me, fortunately I'm not easily fascinated! But also travelling has gotten to me, just like nail polish. In the past months my polish collection grew from 40-something to a 144 polishes today. The same thing happened with travelling (slower though, this hobby is pricier and takes up more time). A year back I had visited about 15 countries in western and southern Europe, now I've been in 20 countries in three continents. I'd actually like to blog about travelling as well. But this is my nail blog, so onto nails, my vacation nails!

Before we left I made a tux-design on my ringfinger and the other nails matte black. I didn't lost the bow as I actually expected!

I can't wait to swatch all the polishes I bought. But it's dark and rainy outside.. welcome back home in Holland -_- So the light isn't gonna be right for swatching I guess.

I'm going to buy a third shelf for my polish collection today, with the new additions it isn't possible to store them out nicely over the two shelves without it looking overcrowded.

Essence - Secret new trend edition?! 'Show Off!'

Hellooo,

I love living so close to the borders and having a quite different world of make-up and nail polish on both sides. Though I'm rarely in Belgium and weekly in Germany.. Anyway, I went to the German DM drugstore yesterday. Buying a few things that I'll be needing on vacation. Cause I'm going to Helsinki with my boyfriend for a few days in the autumn break! We'll leave on friday the 15th and will return the next monday. *Excited!*

Anyway, I bumped into an unfamiliar Essence display, called 'Show Off'. The 'NEWNEWNEW' boards around it suggested it indeed was new. Why didn't I know of this? Have I missed it on the web? Did it all got announced and out in the few days my internet was being a bitch? Or is this something only Germany was informed about and blessed with?

Here's a crappy image from the display:

(Left-right, back-front) Click-on nails, two lipglosses, blush brushes, two kinds of fake lashes, 5 new polishes, pink blusher, 4 eyeshadows and two kohl pencils.

I bought two of the polishes. I have no idea what all the names are, cause it's nowhere to be found online. I bought the green one 'Here I Am', the dark blue 'Chica' (which looks like black, in the middle) and the blush brush. I believe the pink polish was called 'Me Me Me!'.

I really don't get why they have brought this out without any marketing or even the slightest announcement. Neither do I get how they managed to do that without something leaking out.

This first one is 'Here I Am':

Here I Am is a shiny lime polish. I was in doubt about buying it. But I'm glad I did. It got stipes during the applying which turned to patchy with the second coat. But the top coat evened it out and I like the way it looks. It's not like any other green, lime or green-yellow I own. I also think this would make a lovely Halloween colour.

And then there's Chica:

Chica is a dark blue with lighter blue sparkles in it. I barely noticed them in the bottle, but they pop out in the sunlight. I'm wearing two coats. This one applied a lot nicer than Here I Am. It's not unique in my collection at all, it's just another lovely blue. Which is fine :)

I don't know in which countries this collection will be available, except for Germany of course. I really hope I'll run into in in Holland soon though!

MAC Venomous Villains Formidable

Last saturday the Venomous Villains collection was finally released in the Netherlands. I got to the MAC counter quite early and they only had one bottle of Bad Fairy left! Just one! For me :D I also bought Formidable, but left Mean and Green because it looks a lot like Orly Space Cadet.
Right now I also feel a little bummed about only buying polishes and nothing else of this collection, mainly cause the polishes don't have a design on them '^^
Even though I was crazy about getting Bad Fairy, once home I wanted to try Formidable first.

These two are my first MAC nailpolishes. Whenever I'm about to try a total new brand I always seem to have expectations. Usually they're price related. The same for MAC, I don't have many expensive polishes and these to me belong to the few rare ones. I expected nice quality and Formidable was just that. It's a very dark plum base with teal sparkles in it. I love it, and I couldn't stop taking pictures of it!

P2 Crackling top coats

Hello everyone,

I already mentioned that I've got the P2 Crackling top coats. I tried them yesterday, but the colour sheme I chose turned out to be rather disgusting. I wanted to do it again today with some different colors, but it's almost certain that there will be three Nfu Oh opals arriving in the mail today. Of course they get the privilege of getting on my nails right away and therefor I've done the Crackling top coats on a nailwheel.

But first the haul of th estuff I bought in DM (German drugstore).

The Crackling top coats 'Black Explosion' and 'Silver Blast'. Color Victim 'Lovely' and 'Dating Time'. And some stickers.

As I base for the crackling top coats I used two Essence Colour & Go polishes. The neon green is 'Check me Out' and the blue is 'Shocking Blue'.

You just apply your base colour over your entire nail. The same goes for the top coats, apply them all over your nails. They both look very sheer when you apply them, but this is fine. Don't try to even it out and don't add more coats. Just let the magic begin!

I'm not too fond about the way the cracks appeared in this one. But it's pretty amazing anyway. I wonder how they came up with this? I'd like to believe that this first came out as a production error of either a black or silver polish. How the people of P2 were all like 'how the fuck did that happen?' and then just decided there probably were people who would like it.
Well I certainly do!

Here's the 'Silver Blast' in proces. This one did get cracks in a prettier way.

These polishes really are something special! I hope P2 will make these in a few more colors. I'd definatly buy them. I know a look like this isn't everybody's cup of tea, but that's another thing I love about it. It's different, daring, lovely to watch the proces, in-your-face results and nothing to wear to some fancy job. Love it!

I got these at DM for €1,75 a polish, they contain 11ml.

China Glaze Fight Like A Women swatches

Hey everyone!

Just a quick note about yesterday's post: I've got the P2 Crackling topcoats! I was going to try them today but something else came in the mail which I got a little more excited about. The China Glaze Fight Like A Women collection! Which consists of three very different pink polishes. So here they are!

Encouragement, Empowerment and Endurance.

This is Encouragement. I wouldn't even call it pink, it's rather pearly white with some pink shimmer in it. I'm wearing three coats in the pictures, but it still doesn't fully cover. I don't think it's meant to that anyway. Even though I put on three coats, it didn't get too thick. I really like this polish, I love the colour!

This is Empowerment. I just really love it cause I think it's 'the' pink. The colour pink I imagine when I think about pink stuff (eh.. yeah). I'm wearing three coats. It applied pretty well, but it took forever to dry, causing me to smudge it a few times. Kinda annoyed me. But I still really like it!

Excuse me for the first picture. It looks like crap but it was the best in the bunch and right now it's too dark to take new pics.

Anyway, last but least, Endurance. This is my favorite of the collection. It's a pink-purple base with purple-lilac-ish glitter in it (god I'm the worst colour discriber). I'm wearing three coats. I'm a big fan of in-your-face polishes like these.

But of course there's more to this collection than three pretty polishes. It's about breast cancer awareness, pink for october. I think this subject is very imporetant. My grandmother was a two time breast cancer survivor (who died cause of lung cancer a year ao). I hope that there will be more research, for this aweful disease in general actually.

So, I did a pink ribbon mani..

I used the Konad imageplate M73 and Heli-Yum by China Glaze for the stamping. The ribbons with Essence Pink nail art painter.

China Glaze Raspberry Festival and excited rambling

Just a quick post to show my nails of the day and to let out my excitement.
Here is Raspberry Festivsal!

Raspberry Festival belongs to the China Glaze Summer Days collection. And it does give me a little bit of the summer feeling. It's shimmery glitter cheers me up! This also makes it stand out in the crowd of my red polishes. I'm a sucker for red nails, this one is definatly in my top 3 of red polishes.

But anyway, *excitement!*, I was just browsing through nail blogs and again I came across crackled/grafitti nailpolish. I immediatly thought of my last failed search for them in Germany. But considering that I'm giving myself a day off to study (I guess I'll study tonight then), I might as well go again today. I just figured out a few DM store locations that should sell P2, which should have the crackling polishes in their displays. I hope so!
Now I'm gonna wake up the boyfriend and tell him the happy news ^^ He'll be frustrated, I just know it! Not getting why I have to leave the country to buy polish. It's only ten minute drive though. We're going anyway!

KOTD with For Audrey and my reorganized stash!

Hey everyone,

Yesterday I felt like doing a Konad mani. I really wanted to try the houndstooth pattern on imageplate M63. Even though a black-white combo would've given me the chance to match it with a pair of shoes, a bag, a coat, a scarf etc. I wanted to put it over China Glaze For Audrey. I absolutely love this colour.

This picture is pretty colour accurate, though it's taken with a flash. I'm getting used to China Glaze applying nicely and covering well. This light colour only needed two coats.

And here's with the Konad over it (this morning, better lights)

I like it :) Another thing I like is the new home of my stash! I used to keep my nailpolishes in a large shelf cabinet. This was fine for the times I owned about 50 polishes, they were spread over two shelves. But recently (also a little thanks to this blog) my stash has dubbled, and a little more. The deep shelves of my large cabin became fuller and fuller. The last few days I wasn't able to grab one standing in the back, without knocking everything else over.

So I was in need of a new way to store my stash. I'd rather die than putting them all in an ugly 'helmer' or other drawer cabins. I like my polishes, I think they're pretty and want to be able to see them almost all together.

I went to the Ikea to see what kind of stuff they had available which would be handy to put my polishes in or on. I ended up buying two medium sized (they had larger ones that were too large for my wall) shelves, actually painting holders. But I think they're perfect ^^ I also picked up a little shelf cabinet that I still had in my old room at my mom's house. I'm really happy with my little corner!

So here is my corner: my two shelves, polishes safe and secure under Tony Montana and my little shelf cabinet and a mess on my boyfriend's closet '^^

From the left to the right, top shelf:

GOSH, Rimmel, Bourjois, HEMA, 2b, Herôme, China Glaze, Artdeco, H&M, L'Oreal, Maybeline, 2true, DA and some treatments in the back.

Bottom shelf: Essence (a lot), Orly, O.P.I., Catrice, Sephora by O.P.I., KoH and Manhattan.

On my small shelf cabinet Eyeko and Nfu Oh have gotten their own special place ^^ In the bottom are some nail art pens/painters, stamping polish and image plates. In the tiny drawer other stuff for stamping.

My drawer, which still is pretty empty.. Some cotton pads, nail polish remover nails wheels, nail files, stickers, rhinestones and glitters, old polishes I can't throw out etc.

Reorganizing all this stuff was fun to do, I came across some things I forgot about, I counted my polishes and I love how it looks now ^^ Can you believe my boyfriend actually wanted to use one of the wall shelves to put his xbox games on? It would've looked so horrible!

Anyway, I'm still considering buying a third shelf. I know I'll need the space eventually..

O.P.I. Cuckoo for this Colour & My Private Jet

Today I went into town again, really excited. Just like the day before yesterday. I read that on September 30th M.A.C.'s Venomous Villains collection was coming. So there I was, euforic about buying Bad Fairy.. they didn't have it yet. I was told they'd have it on October 2th, today.
So there I was again today. And again, nothing *gmbl* I was a little dissapointed.

To get a bit of my previous mood back I decided to buy two more O.P.I. polishes, cause the first time we met two days ago was very pleasant ^^ I bought Cuckoo for this Colour and My Private Jet. The last one is somewhat famous, so I got curious. There was no exaggerating, it's gorgeous!
And I'll be returning to the M.A.C. counter October 9th with my hopes up.

My Private Jet is a brown base with a lot of different colors of glitter in it. It's dazzling! I'm wearing two coats in the pictures. It applied nice and got off a lot easier than most glitters. Overall brown is far from my favorite colour, I've got absolutely nothing with 'natural' looks. But I really love this one! Perphaps cause it doesn't look natural and boring but flashy thanks to the glitters.

Cuckoo for this Colour, a dark teal-green with blue glitters in it. Two coats that went on easy. I think the name is funny, I mean, wtf. But it's gorgeous anyway. I don't think I own anything that looks even a little like it. It's shiny like the sun, you can actually see a weird reflection of me down in the detail picture, it's that shiny! I'm falling in love with this brand<3

Which O.P.I. polishes would you recommend? I want more!

O.P.I. Absolutely Alice swatch

Hey there,
First I'd like to welcome three new followers! Thanks guys, it means a lot to me :)
Yeterday I went shopping, I bought a lot nail stuff as usual. But there's one polish I'm very happy with! My first O.P.I. :D

It's nowhere near new, but I went for Absolutely Alice of the Alice in Wonderland collection. I'm a huge fan of the fairytale, so I had to have it! Too bad it was the only one they had left of this collection.
Being Dutch I got at the Sephora located in the V&D, they usually cost €13,95. But yesterday (and I guess the few upcoming days) they had a huge sale. 15% off all products, including O.P.I.!

Now onto the polish..

Oh but, by the way, I know the nail on my indexfinger is horrible. Makes me very sad, but I refuse to cut off all the others as well.

Absolutely Alice is a lovely blue glitter. I wore three coats in the pictures.

I always like glitter, cause it makes me happy. But what bothers me with glitter nailpolish is the applying and the removal. It often took away the joy of glittery nails.

But this one applied easy. The polish tended to run to the edges, nothing major though. And for a glitter it works amazing!

I know nothing about the removal yet. The quality is still is a mystery though. I took a shower yesterday about two hours after applying, when I came out I noticed that a huge part had chipped off my middle finger. It was easy to fix, but that's not what I expected of a €13,95 nailpolish.

Anyway, since I'm not the person that wears a mani for longer than three/four days it doesn't bother me. I just enjoy the colour, with the pretty gold and silver glitters in it.

Herôme W.I.C. Amsterdam and Toronto, plus a lace-nails attempt

Hello everyone,
Today I'd like to show some Herôme polishes of the World Inspired Colours collection. It's a very large collection with over a hunderd polishes, all with names of famous cities around the world.
There was a great offer at Douglas last weekend, where you could get your nails done for free, advice for free (yadayada) and one W.I.C. polish for free! And instead of just getting one (as I expected) I got to choose one! I picked the colour that spoke to me the most, which turned out to be Toronto!

This is a lovely green-grey with a foil'ish finish. It applied well and I only needed two coats. I really like this colour, even though it doesn't look like the colour in the bottle, which looks a lot darker.

With this free one I also got a flyer of all the polishes in the W.I.C. collection, that made some nice eyecandy for the evening. First I wanted every polish in which name I've been, but I quicky noticed I'd end up with way too many!
I decided I needed the polish Amsterdam, cause it's the capital of my country. So the next day I left the store with that one. Rome and Melbourne came along :)

Amsterdam is a lovely creme red. Two coats in the pic. Of course inspired on our famous Red Light District. I'm always in for a gorgeous red, this one isn't like any other red polishes I own, it's brighter and vivid, without looking too pink. And it's so shiny! ^^

In The Netherlands the W.I.C. collection is available at Douglas for €6,95 a polish.

I wanted to try the baroque-like pattern on the Konad plate M71. For that I used the light gold polish Melbourne (also W.I.C. - I'll do a full nail swatch soon!).

Please ignore the fugly cotton bits on my nails. I did like this look, it's quite subtle, but obviously there. But I got it off after one day cause I also wanted to try the lace-like pattern right next to it on the M71 plate.

I used the black Konad stamping polish over Eyeko's Nude polish. The red is Amsterdam and the leaves are Catrice Sold Out Forever and Essence Crazy Me.

It's a bit messy, but that's okay, it means that I'll be doing my nails again this evening!
